Our client, The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, seeks a Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of Economic Development. Part bridge builder, part strategic leader, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership capacity through prior work experience and the ability to effectively communicate with both business leaders and elected and appointed government officials.  Candidates should possess:
A minimum of eight to ten years of successful leadership experience in an organization of similar size and scope, either for- profit or not-for-profit.
Proven management, budget oversight and supervisory experience.
Service in a top leadership role of an organization where answering to a Board of Directors was a key component.
A Bachelor’s degree. Professional certifications (e.g., CCE, CEcD, IOM, etc.) preferred.

Chief Executive Officer

Our client, EDCare, the longest operating eating disorder treatment center in the region, with over 15 years of experience treating a full array of eating disorders, is seeking an exceptional healthcare leader as their next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  The CEO reports to a three-person Board of Managers and is responsible for achieving its clinical, financial and growth objectives.  

Significant senior management experience in health care is required; with a preference for experience in behavioral health care; as well as prior experience in business development, feasibility analysis, planning and execution.  An advanced degree (MHA or MBA) or equivalent experience is required.

Director, Department of Financial Affairs

Director of Education

Our client, The Kansas City Zoo is seeking a Director of Education. The Zoo was founded in 1909 and over the years has evolved beyond a Zoo into an entertainment, research and education center for its geographic region; comprised of a 36-member Board of Directors made up of business, civic and community leaders; staff of approximately 190 FTE; over 250 volunteers; a 202-acre complex; a “Friends of the Zoo” membership base of 20,000; and a 102-year history and tradition in Greater Kansas City. 

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this key role will serve as an active member of the Zoo’s senior leadership team. The Director of Education will plan, coordinate and direct the overall implementation of the education strategic plan. Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years’ of teaching experience with formal & informal education programs. A background emanating from the zoo, aquarium, or museum industry is highly preferred.

Executive Director

Our client, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG), seeks an Executive Director (ED).  DRCOG is one of the nation’s three oldest councils of governments. DRCOG’s membership consists of representatives from the 9 counties comprising the Denver metro area and 47 municipalities collaborating to make life in the greater metro area better. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and serves as the chief administrative officer of the organization.  The ED is responsible for providing leadership, advice, counsel and assistance to the Board and its committees. 

A Master’s degree in public administration or directly related field and ten to twelve years of management experience that includes relevant experience at the director and/or executive level is required. Additional experience in lieu of an advanced degree will also be considered.  Along with significant, progressively responsible experience in local, regional, state, federal government administration; knowledge of transportation, urban planning, and aging policy initiatives, while not required, is highly preferred.

President and Chief Executive Officer

Qualified CEO candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a leadership role managing programs or operations in a non-profit agency; demonstrated passion for youth development and commitment to diversity; strong skills in financial and asset management, along with a proven track record leading a broad range of resource development/fundraising activities; and outstanding leadership skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with the Board, staff, external partners and others to further the mission.

Vice President of Development

EFL Associates has been retained to assist in the search for a Vice President of Development.  Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Development will be responsible for crafting the overall strategic direction for Development, providing strong leadership for donor development initiatives, managing a team of results-oriented staff and being a careful steward of donors and their contributions.  S/he must deliver a donor program that provides both new and existing donors with an exceptional experience with the organization that earns their loyalty and personal advocacy.  

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in development, including a proven track record in transforming an organizations outcomes.  Experience researching, identifying, nurturing and engaging external partners that align with the organizations is necessary.  A broad-based development background encompassing public, foundation and corporate grants; major gifts; capital campaigns; planned giving; and annual funds from global/national sources is required.  Must possess a demonstrated record of personal success in raising significant gifts (i.e., successful six/seven figure asks) from individuals, businesses, foundations, corporations and/or the public sector.  Experience leveraging fundraising databases and support systems for donor segmentation, research and targeted acquisition is also required.  An undergraduate degree is required, with advanced degree preferred.
