Our client, The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce, seeks a Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of Economic Development. Part bridge builder, part strategic leader, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership capacity through prior work experience and the ability to effectively communicate with both business leaders and elected and appointed government officials.  Candidates should possess:
A minimum of eight to ten years of successful leadership experience in an organization of similar size and scope, either for- profit or not-for-profit.
Proven management, budget oversight and supervisory experience.
Service in a top leadership role of an organization where answering to a Board of Directors was a key component.
A Bachelor’s degree. Professional certifications (e.g., CCE, CEcD, IOM, etc.) preferred.

Chief Executive Officer

Our client, EDCare, the longest operating eating disorder treatment center in the region, with over 15 years of experience treating a full array of eating disorders, is seeking an exceptional healthcare leader as their next Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  The CEO reports to a three-person Board of Managers and is responsible for achieving its clinical, financial and growth objectives.  Significant senior management experience in health care is required; with a preference for experience in behavioral health care; as well as prior experience in business development, feasibility analysis, planning and execution.  An advanced degree (MHA or MBA) or equivalent experience is required.

Chief Executive Officer

Our client, Urban Peak, located in Denver and Colorado Springs, seeks a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) with a track record of non-profit leadership, management, funder development, and the ability to cultivate meaningful relationships with key strategic partners, funders, community leaders, and other key stakeholders. Urban Peak provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. The CEO reports to the Urban Peak Denver Board of Directors (BOD), and works with the Denver and Colorado Springs BOD, and their committees to establish the strategic direction of the organization and to develop effective policies and programs to support the organization’s mission and vision.   Demonstrated leadership success in cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding funders and strategic partners is highly desired. An undergraduate degree is required.  An advanced degree, along with previous nonprofit management experience, ideally in service to at-risk youth, while not required is highly desirable.

Director of Engagement - Education

The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has engaged EFL Associates in a search for the Director of Engagement - Education.  The Director will report to the Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications, and will serve as an advocate and constituency builder for the Foundation’s key educational outreach programs.  In short, this position will be responsible for designing and executing a strategy that 1) enhances awareness, 2) generates engagement, and 3) drives action to support the Foundation’s education agenda.  Further responsibilities are available upon request.

Qualified candidates will possess a professional track record of 10+ years in constituency-building or advocacy roles involving hands-on work in developing and executing strategic plans.  Experience in, or significant knowledge of, urban education environments along with a broad knowledge of national trends in urban school improvement practices is required.  Experience managing education-related communications initiatives is strongly preferred, along with experience in government or political sectors.

Executive Director

Executive Director

Our client, National Council on Teacher Retirement (NCTR) seeks an Executive Director (ED).  NCTR is dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of public retirement systems to which teachers belong in the United States and its territories, and to promoting the rights and benefits of all present and future members of the systems.  NCTR membership includes 68 state, territorial and local pension systems that serve more than 19 million active and retired teachers, non-teaching personnel, and other public employees.  The ED reports to a ten-member Executive Committee and is the chief executive officer and administrative head of NCTR.  The ED provides leadership in planning, developing and implementing long and short term strategies; ensuring appropriate business practices and accounting controls are in place; planning and organizing the Annual Conference as well as other NCTR workshops and Executive Committee meetings; and representing NCTR in official capacities with outside organizations and media.  A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; advanced degree or industry certification is desirable.  Substantial relevant experience may be substituted for a degree in limited circumstances.  Knowledge  of public pension plan administration and issues is important.  Substantial experience (ideally at least 5 years) in an executive role at a public pension fund or comparable management experience in an entity with common interests to the public pension industry .

President and Chief Executive Officer

Vice President and Science Officer

 

Our client, Delta Dental of Illinois (DDIL), a not-for-profit dental benefits company dedicated to improving the oral health of the communities it serves for 50 years, is seeking their next Vice President & Science Officer. The VP & Science Officer reports to the CEO and is responsible for implementing new product designs working with cross-functional teams to achieve consumer desires and competitive price points.  Identifies emerging technologies and trends in the dental industry and provides analysis and recommendations to the organization.  Requires a strong analytical skill-set; with the ability to interpret and use data to make and support a business case.  A strong understanding of trends and best practices in dentistry and improving oral health is required.  Experience as a public health dentist, military dentist, and/or in dental epidemiology is a strong preference.  An advanced degree DDS or DMD degree is required.

Vice President of Development

EFL Associates has been retained to assist in the search for a Vice President of Development.  Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Development will be responsible for crafting the overall strategic direction for Development, providing strong leadership for donor development initiatives, managing a team of results-oriented staff and being a careful steward of donors and their contributions.  S/he must deliver a donor program that provides both new and existing donors with an exceptional experience with the organization that earns their loyalty and personal advocacy.  

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in development, including a proven track record in transforming an organizations outcomes.  Experience researching, identifying, nurturing and engaging external partners that align with the organizations is necessary.  A broad-based development background encompassing public, foundation and corporate grants; major gifts; capital campaigns; planned giving; and annual funds from global/national sources is required.  Must possess a demonstrated record of personal success in raising significant gifts (i.e., successful six/seven figure asks) from individuals, businesses, foundations, corporations and/or the public sector.  Experience leveraging fundraising databases and support systems for donor segmentation, research and targeted acquisition is also required.  An undergraduate degree is required, with advanced degree preferred.
