Jan Asnicar joined EFL Associates as Assistant Vice President - Consultant. She brings more than 20 years of higher education experience and will work closely with the distinguished team of former presidents/chancellors: Dr. David Horner, Dr. Michael Ferrari, Dr. Gordon Lamb and Dr. Timothy Weber.
She began her career in higher education in student affairs in the University of Wisconsin system. In the 1980s she joined an educational consulting firm that specialized in assisting institutions in the development of programs for adult learners. As Vice President she worked with colleges and universities throughout the Midwest providing guidance and support in the areas of strategic planning, external compliance, staff development, communications, public relations, marketing and promotion.
In 2003, Asnicar joined Baker University’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies as Associate Dean. In this role she had responsibility for enrollment management and academic services at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. She, in collaboration with her team of more than 30 professionals at four campus locations, achieved significant increases in enrollment and received recognition for innovation as well as process efficiency.
Her responsibilities included research, staff development, new program initiatives, web design, as well as strategic planning and expansion. In addition to her accomplishments in higher education leadership, she has retained her link to the teaching-learning process by also serving as a faculty member. Her evaluations by students describe her style as passionate, yet focused upon the provision of challenging and relevant learning experiences. She has been invited to present at regional, national, and international conferences on various topics such as faculty development, assessment, effective advertising strategies and the changing demographics of college students.
Asnicar’s academic accomplishments include a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin; she has completed all of the coursework for the doctorate in higher education at the University of Minnesota. Most recently she has been pursuing completion of a second master’s degree in Conflict Management.Education:
